Casa RATONES

Designing a house, beyond the technical craft, aesthetic composition, and structural arrangements, is a clear and extensive exercise in observation and understanding — of the place, the needs, the daily life, and the people. On this 12,000-square-meter plot located in an area of exuberant nature in Ratones, on the way to the north of the island of Florianópolis, the generous permanent preservation area thrives in dialogue with the architecture of the house: the flows and paths, the residents' program, and the continuous proximity to the environment guide the architectural solutions and embrace the house in its dynamic of being both a refuge and a space for leisure and togetherness.
